This
weight loss program is offered to male and female patients with an undesirable BMI (Body Mass Index).
The
program involves a weekly injection, which work additively to decrease appetite
and one’s taste for food. This allows for rather easy maintenance of a
decreased caloric daily intake, which generally results in a weight loss of
approximately 2+ pounds per week. Our PS
Semaglutide & B12 compound is the perfect pair to ensure each patient
successfully reaches their weight loss goal.
Regular
exercise and nutritional supplements are also important and essential
components of this program.
When
the desired weight goal is achieved, a smaller dose of the medications are
continued as desired, thus preventing the yo-yo effect that many “dieters”
experience.
What happens prior to my
first visit?
You will
be sent a lab form that is to be taken to Quest Diagnostic to complete fasting
labs 48-72 hours prior to your first appointment. Once labs are completed and
received, Dr. Sam Sukkar will review the results with our nurse to determine
candidacy.
What happens at the first
visit?
You will meet with one of
our nurses for a full medical evaluation to determine if semaglutide is a safe
treatment option for you. Our nurse will teach you how to self-inject
at this visit (if necessary).
What
is Semaglutide?
- SEMAGLUTIDE is
indicated as an adjunct to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical
activity for chronic weight management in adults with an undesirable BMI (Body Mass Index).
- Unlike other weight
loss medications, you do not have to stop taking it after a short time.
You may continue as long as you think it’s helpful.
What
are possible Side Effects?
- It’s common to
experience nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. These are generally mild to
moderate and improve over time.
- Gastrointestinal
symptoms could occur upon starting the medication and when increasing the
dose each month.
We
Encourage You to:
- Eat nutritious
food throughout the day to avoid hypoglycemia (low blood sugar),
lightheadedness, or weakness.
- Move your
body once a week or more as you are able. Muscle growth with resistance
training will increase your resting calorie burn, and cardiovascular
exercise will improve your heart health, win win!
- Avoid high
calorie beverages like juice, soda, and alcohol.
